Massage Therapist School
This course of study teaches
students massage techniques, human anatomy, indications
and contraindications for massage, draping techniques,
legalities and ethics, business management, client
communications and proper body mechanics in order to
provide high-quality bodywork. CAHA also provides Reiki
Level One and HighSelf Resonance Therapy Level One to
introduce the student to basic energywork. The
Mind/Body/Spirit Connection, a school-wide course,
allows the student to explore the benefits of yoga,
meditation, t’ai chi and chi gong. The student will
find these modalities will contribute to their
individual spiritual growth as well as their practice.
Our intention is to provide our students the opportunity
to experience unconditional love and oneness with Spirit
while developing their technical skills and
self-awareness. It takes place on many levels,
including interpersonal communication, spiritual and
heart connection. Students will also have the training
and skills necessary to begin their career in the
holistic healing field.
Massage
Schedule
Circulatory Massage: The following are two individual
courses.
January, 2008 for the Day Massage Program. March, 2008 for the
Weekend/Evening program.
Our introductory massage course includes instruction
on how to give a great massage, anatomy, body
mechanics, ethics, sanitation and information to
prepare you for the National Certification
Examination. This course includes T’ai Chi
instruction. 100 hours.
HighSelf Resonance Therapy: The following are
individual courses.
Februrary 2008 for the for the Day Massage Program. January, 2008 for the
Weekend/Evening program.
Our introductory energywork course teaches you how to
provide energywork through the auric field, and
includes instruction on how to create sacred space,
balance and clear your energy, balance and clear the
energy for others, develop your higher awareness of
chakras, nadis, the aura, and the meridians, and how
to facilitate a healing experience. 100 hours.
Business Management:
May, 2008 for the Day Program, as well
as January 2008 for the Day Program. October, 2008 for the Weekend/Evening
Program.
Our business course teaches the holistic health professional about the
various types of markets available, how to develop the
business side of their practice, and includes hands-on
projects in vision development, marketing,
advertising, developing target markets and a
rudimentary business plan. A necessary course, even
for the experienced holistic professional. 66 hours.
Mind-Body-Spirit Connection:
May, 2008 and February, 2008 for the Day
Massage Program. November, 2007 for the Weekend/Evening program.
This course synthesizes Chi Kung, T’ai Chi, Yoga, Meditation, and
other spiritual practices and gives you the
opportunity to go deeper and develop your
spirituality. Bring a yoga mat, water, and wear
comfortable clothes. This course teaches at a
beginning to intermediate level. 28 hours.
Deep Tissue Massage:
July-August 2008 for the Weekend/Evening
Program. March, 2008 for the Day Program.
This course provides instruction in
Deep Tissue Massage and elements of Myofascial Release
and Neuromuscular Therapy, and includes information on
anatomy, body mechanics and tissue consistency. This
course includes T’ai Chi instruction. 100 hours.
Reiki 1: On-going courses on a monthly basis. Contact CAHA for more information.
This course provides instruction in the history,
application, use and the First Degree Attunement in
Reiki. Our attunements include the hands and feet and
are from six Reiki traditions: Usui, Seichim,
Tibetan, Karuna, Ananda Rei, and Independent. 12
hours.
Anatomy and Physiology:
September 2008-January 2009 for the Weekend/Evening Program, June/July 2008 for the Day Program.
This course includes instruction in
anatomy and physiology for bodyworkers, including
information on the body’s 11 systems, connective
tissue and nerve systems on the microscopic level, and
information necessary to pass the National
Certification Exam. 100 hours.
Sports Massage:
April 2008 for the Weekend/Evening Program, February, 2007 for the Day
Program.
This course provides
instruction in Sports Massage and its various
applications for sporting event warm-up, cool-down,
and injury recovery. Includes training in Sports Nutrition and using
Eastern/Western massage in Sports Application. Includes field experience at
sporting events. 100 hours. I
Reflexology: The 100-hour Program is scheduled from September,
2007-December, 2007. September,
2007 for the Weekend/Evening Program and the Day Program.
This course provides an introduction to
reflexology—Egyptian style--one of the oldest in the
world. Reflexology works with reflex points in the
feet (and other parts of the body) via the nervous
system to provide healing for the entire body. 24
